Minor - Coach Pitch (Rookie) Baseball is for players ages 6, 7, 8. There will be separate baseball (boys) & softball (girls) divisions for the players. This division is where the coach will pitch to the players during the games. You are required to have completed at least 1 year of Tee Ball to be eligible to play in this division. Players will continue to learn the fundamentals of the game (properly catching a ball, properly throwing a ball, properly swinging the bat, know what the positions are on the field, know what to do when a ball is hit to them when on defense (in the field) and know where to run when the player hits the ball off of a pitch.) In order to advance to the minor league, a player must be able to properly catch a ball, throw a ball, hit a ball off of a live pitch and know what to do on defense. If a 5-year-old would like to play in the Rookie division, they must be recommended by his previous year's coach and may be required to have a try out to be eligible to play in the minor league division. The season will start in March and will run until the end of June. This is the 1st division that will get access to indoor practice as we have limited gym space for practices. Traditionally indoor practice is 1 day per week for 1 hour. Once we can move our practices outside you will have 1-2 practices per week. There will only be only 1 practice per field per night. The day of the week for practice will be assigned to the coach, and coaches will try to keep practices close to where everyone lives. You will be playing on average 1-3 games per week depending on weather. This is also the 1st division that will be traveling for away games. The game schedules will be provided to WWLL as WWLL does not make the baseball or softball schedules for league play.
